Be Brave

The Power of Buzzwords

Buzzwords are a form of mental prompts that empower you to look to yourself for answers and propel you to action in a positive and proactive way. For this month of May, I share a buzzword from my book’s Relationship section. With the most recent meeting of our Prime Minister Mark Carney and the United States administration, we saw firsthand “the art of diplomacy” as our PM held his own navigating what he needed to say (or not say) while keeping his integrity and remaining positive and proactive. As we’ve seen, not an easy thing to do in the Oval Office. In your own personal life, when you feel that you are going into a “lion’s den,” use this buzzword to keep you focused on the matter at hand trusting that regardless of the outcome it must be done.

This month’s buzzword is:

Be Brave

I was meeting a friend at a coffee shop to discuss some issues that were affecting our relationship. I knew things were going to be uncomfortable with what was going to be shared, but it was needed to move our relationship forward in a positive way. My stomach was in knots as I envisioned our conversation when a passing car caught my attention; its license plate read “Be Brave.” I smiled then looked to the heavens, for there was the message I needed to receive at this moment in time. It gave me the strength to realize that this conversation was needed to help mend a struggling relationship. The buzzword “Be Brave” is one to call upon when you need the strength to do what you need to do. It will help refocus your mind on the matter at hand and not the fear of dealing with a challenging or uncomfortable situation.
