You Are Valued

The Power of Buzzwords

Buzzwords are a form of mental prompts that empower you to look to yourself for answers and propel you to action in a positive and proactive way. This April, “You are Valued” is the headline buzzword in a trio pulled from my book’s Buzzword Toolbox section. These buzzwords— “I Love You,” “I Am Sorry,” and “Thank You”—have the power to deepen connections, to heal, and to strengthen one’s sense of value. In this new age of technology with its communication and information coming and going at light speed, it can impede meaningful conversation. These three buzzwords are important ones yet not used often enough. So, use them to build and nurture your relationships and empower yourself to value those around you.

This month’s buzzwords:

I Love You

These words, “I Love You,” are words that all of us need to hear. Many will say, “Oh, they already know,” or “I don’t need to say it,” but you do. These words feed the heart and soul, make one feel special and treasured, and strengthen the bond of your relationship.

I Am Sorry

It is essential in all relationships that when we recognize we’ve made a mistake or hurt someone, we admit it and say, “I Am Sorry.” These words are powerful, so use them to build a bridge, mend a heart, or right a wrong. We are all human, and we will all make mistakes at one time or another.

Thank You

It is funny how two of the simplest words, “Thank You,” have been forgotten in this day and age. Yes, they are part of having good manners, but they are more than that; they show appreciation and that one’s energy, time, and thoughtfulness are acknowledged and valued.
